Coca-Cola is now the official beverage partner of the Overwatch League in a deal that has come to fruition as the 2019 season officially kicked off this week, according to an official announcement (h/t ESPN).
The global brand joins returning sponsorship partners Toyota, T-Mobile, HP and Intel as some of the most widely-recognized and globally popular brands sponsoring the league.
More specifically, Coca-Cola’s new sponsorship deal with the league
spreads across the “entire competitive Overwatch esports ecosystem,” which includes Overwatch Contenders, Open Division, the North American Tespa competitions, the Overwatch World Cup and BlizzCon.
Activision Blizzard Esports leagues’ chief revenue officer Brandon Snow says that the Coca-Cola/Overwatch League pairing is “the perfect pairing between two businesses that share common values.”
Overwatch League has made giant strides in their efforts to expand their visibility, and viewership this year, highlighted by the airing of their various events on ABC, DisneyXD and ESPN2
