Apex Legends’ impressive first week was on full display as many gamers took to Twitch streams and Mixer streams to show off the new battle royale game, and it really made an impact on Twitch.
Respawn has to be celebrating the fact that Apex Legends topped the juggernaut Fortnite on Twitch during their first week, an impressive feat considering just how dominant Fortnite has been on streaming platforms.
According to Dexerto, the average Twitch viewership for Apex Legends for it’s first week was 183,089, with a peak of 491,894, while Fortnite’s average was 115,947, with a peak of 326,454, showing a drastic surge for Respawn’s offering.
So far, Apex Legends has maintained it’s hold on the #1 spot while Fortnite has taken a back seat, for once, on Twitch.
Will it continue? It’s hard to say, but Apex Legends is posing as some serious competition for Fortnite right out of the gates.
