Last week, Twitch officially announced a brand new feature that is intended to help creators improve collaborative efforts with one another.
Squad Stream allows up to four Twitch streams to stream live simultaneously in one window. The setup allows for easier viewing of streams and allows for powerful cross-promotional benefits.
According to Hubert Thieblot, Twitch’s vice president of creator experience
the feature lets “streamers actively team up with other creators to benefit everyone in a channel .”
“Creators can join forces right from the dashboard, stream content they wouldn’t normally stream, and grow their communities all at the same time,” Thieblot wrote in a post on Medium.
“Viewers get more angles on the action, a way to support more of their favorite streamers with ease, and a chance to chat with several great communities at once — or join a new one.”
Twitch stated that it’s starting the roll out with it’s Partners, its top-tier creator platform, and Twitch Affiliates will eventually follow.
