Viewership for the Overwatch League continues to drop as Stage Two viewership on Twitch continued the disappointing trend over the past two weeks following a strong first quarter of the season.
The past week drew produced 3.22M hours watched on Twitch across OWL’s main channel as well as the top four alternate broadcasts, numbers that show a decline from 2018 when the main OWL channel, French-language broadcast, and Korean-language broadcast combined for 3.37 million total hours watched.
According to the Esports Observer, the average concurrent viewer numbers are down from 137K CCV in 2018.
Despite the obvious drop from last year’s numbers, this past weekend’s numbers showed an improvement from the previous week’s numbers, a silver lining, so to speak.
The main OWL channel is also experiencing a notable decline in viewership, with drops in peak viewership, and overall viewership which includes re-runs.
