Twitch has banned a cosplayer for their use of blackface in her attempt to recreate the look of Apex Legends’ character Lifeline, according to The Sun.
Karina ‘Karupups’ Martsinkevich was recreating the Apex Legends character, dying her hair to match, but was on the receiving end of heavy backlash after applying thick brown make-up to match her skin tone.

The lack of social awareness is appalling, to put it lightly, and Twitch swiftly took action against her for the incident, issuing a ban rather quickly.
The Lithuanian streamer immediately continued her stream on YouTube, following the ban from Twitch.
She later apologized to anyone who “felt pain” as a result of her actions during the controversial stream, saying “I made a mistake because I didn’t have enough information.”
“It was just for fun – I just wanted to change into my favorite legend” she went on to say, pointing out that information in Lithuania related to the history of blackface or the racism associated with it.
