Since Twitch lost Tyler “Ninja” Blevins to competitor Mixer last month, many have wondered how they will respond. Well, this past week we saw Twitch make an interesting move.
Fortnite superstar streamer Nicholas “Nick Eh 30” Amyooy has signed with Twitch, moving his live-stream Fortnite matches from YouTube over to Twitch streams, although he will still be uploading content to his YouTube channel.
Additionally, Twitch is formulating a plan to bring over Amyoony’s 4.2 million subscribers from YouTube, which may prove to be a very tall task for the streaming platform, by offering free loyalty badges to subscribers to his YouTube channel who already paid for a channel membership if they move over to Twitch, at the same price of $4.99 a month.
While it will be very difficult for Twitch to completely make up for the loss of Ninja, signings such as these can certainly help soften the blow.
