Twitch Again Breaks Viewership Records

A new report from Stream Hatchet, a date analytics platform, shows that the Amazon streaming powerhouse Twitch shows no signs of slowing down in it’s immense success and popularity, and remains the most popular livestreaming platform in the industry.

Per the report, Twitch has clocked over 18.5 billion hours watched so far this year, which can be better explained when comparing it to the numbers of 2019, where Twitch had 8.3 billion hours watched that year. Twitch recorded 13.1 billion hours watched in 2020.

YouTube Gaming is also seeing some good numbers, with more than 3.8 billion hours so far this year. It marks a decrease from the 4.3 billion hours watched in 2020, but a new OBS integration has the company confident that the platform will see an improved experience and numbers moving forward.

Facebook Gaming has continued it’s growth as well, seeing a 56% increase in viewership over the past year alone, and clocking 3.5 million hours watched thus far this year.
